Another Nokia E50 firmware upgrade

According to the post that appeared on the official Nokia forum a few days ago there is a new firmware available for Nokia E50. The post has been since removed. As of now I don’t know if this version will be available for all of us or it’s meant only for certain branded phones. The new firmware is numbered 07.05.0.0 (latest known version is 06.41.3.0 7.13.0.0) and here is the changelog:

    Thanks Jaro! My wife’s E50 had 6.27 on it, and NSU utterly refused to allow it to get 6.41, though it did give her 7.05 this morning..

    Hopefully it fixes the speakerphone problem. What problem? Every now & then, she’ll answer the phone, it goes immediately to speaker, won’t switch off, and the UI locks up. Call goes on fine, just through the speakerphone though..

    Jason, good to hear that upgrade works for your wife. Let us know if it solves the loudspeaker problem.

    I tried to do the update but it says that 6.41. is the latest – how come Jason has upgraded to 7.05.?

    This does not seem to be meant for all E50s. Maybe another release is expected soon from Nokia.

    Hi everybody! Does anyone know how do I get to display callers’ names on a NOKIA E50? I copied names from my SIM card and even tried to add a contact from the beggining but no use…

    hi… i upgraded to this firmware version about a month ago now. i downloaded it prior to its release on NSU and upgraded using Phoenix. It DOESNT stop the loudspeaker problem unfortunatly. Ive had the problem 6 times since i upgraded. It does make the OS a bit faster though.

    There are different SW version avaible, depends om which E50 you have

    with camera = E50-2 SW: 07.05.0.0

    or

    without camera = E50-1 SW: 07.13.0.0

    You can get an email update from this french site everytime Nokia releases a SW version for your phone:

    Can anyone please tell me is it worthwhile to upgrade my E50 nokia to the latest = 07.05.0.0 as presently i`m using version — 06.41.3.0

    Does it really make a lot of difference as presently i`m quite happy with it , just the font is small , even thou i have install the SMS accelerator —i yet find sms going slower

    SO would upgrading the phone — make the above – FONT / SMS bitter faster ….

    Can someone — just reply & help me , as i m new to all this

    The new software (7.13.0.0) brings problems regarding caller names!
    Do not update.
