Download new fonts to your Nokia phone

As I expected previous article about changing font size raised a long discussion. For some of you it didn’t work. It’s hard to say why but I guess in most cases it’s because you didn’t follow the steps exactly. I received tons of emails but I couldn’t reply to each of you. This made me think if I should set up a small forum where you could discuss and solve problems like this. But that’s out of the scope of this article.
The biggest issue was to find suitable fonts. Some people used fonts from their pc. If you are on Windows go to Start – Settings – Control Panel – Fonts. Try some of these fonts and see how they fit on your screen.
A guy called Smoke G sent me a set of fonts that he created for the Nokia E50 users. Download this set and follow the instructions from the previous article. You can skip the part about renaming fonts as these are already named correctly. Here is how the font looks on the screen.

I bought an E50 a couple weeks ago and encountered a peculiar problem – while sometimes answering an incoming call, the speakerphone gets activated automatically and then all functions and keys freeze up! Then the only way to restore the phone is to taking the battery out and replacing it. Nokia replaced the faulty phone with a brand new one but the problem still persists!
I had the same error when trying to create the ‘resource’ directory via the E50 phone..I got it right by creating the directory from my Laptop…

How do I know which drive on which drive is my memory
there is C and E accessable through bluetooth on ibook.
tried creating resource and fonts on both and nth….

As for the drive I’m not sure I follow your problem exactly. Could you please describe more in detail? Also I’m on Windows so the procedure might be slightly different.

My name is Yves Wouters. I was very interested in your article and your solution.
My aunt and uncle recently bought a nokia 6288 mobile. However they too want a larger font because my aunt her sight is not that good.
Is it possible to use the fonts from Smoke G and have the same results as with the E50?
If not, could you ask Smoke G how he created those fonts or if he would like to create it for the Nokia 6288?

Nokia 6288 is not symbian mobile. I don’t know solution for your problem. Sorry. I create fonts only
