hello nokia e50 owners,
I’ve had my e50 for about 4 months now.
but last night, i went to send a text msg and it said i do not have a message center defined.
i go to settings to define a center, and whenever i go to send a text it sends me straight back to the main menu. or if i go to settings for text messaging, i get sent to the main menu. i have tried every single way i can to get to my text messaging including thru settings, and it just routes me to my main menu. sending text msgs is non existant
does anybody know what there is to do to fix this problem?

hello, sorry i have not replied. been out for easter all day, just got home.
umm..no i havent installed anything.
it just happend after it said i have no message center defined..ever since then my phones been dead for sms. its actually really frustrating considering im recieving them but unable to send any out. i tried to contact nokia but there support line is only available mon-fri.
any possibilities as to how to fix it?
I can imagine it’s frustrating. You are receiving sms because to receive messages you don’t really need messaging center defined.
What I would try to do is to backup all my data and format the phone.
i guess thats my only hope.
i’ll re-format it and hope for the best..

but, if i download the updated software, would that be considered formatting the phone?
because ive never updated my software.

Jaro, couldnt be happier with the software update, not only has it fixed my sms it has made my phone bullet speed.
i hadnt updated it ever from the old version.
it used to glich up every now and then but now the phone is amazingly faster.

wow i have spoke too soon.
once i loaded up all my data that i backed up on my memory card my text messsaging went back to being broken..
some kinda virus on my memory card????
..im clueless.

Bundy, did you try to format your memory card?
hello there Jaro.
no, i have not formatted my memory card.
but what i did do was re-format the phone.
and then i just didnt restore my phone settings and voila, phone was back to normal with all my pictures and videos just ..no more Black stripe theme. and ofcourse i had to go thru and re-do all my personal profiles and other little things like that..
and, phone works faster than it did before once again.
