Nokia Connecting People

This little blog has grown a lot in the past couple of weeks. When we launched 2 months ago we were counting daily visitors on one hand. Today there are hundreds of people coming to this place looking for the information about Nokia E50. I think it’s appropriate to say that we have grown into a little community in this jungle called the Internet.

I’d like to take the opportunity and thank to all who have contributed either by commenting, sending tips, answering questions or linking to us. Although I can’t mention all of you it doesn’t mean I don’t know about you. I do and I hope I can give back to you soon in some form.

Where is the Nokia E50 Blog heading? Although I’m running it by myself at the moment I plan to take some people on board later. If you are interested in contributing get in touch with me by email contact@nokiae50.info.

And finally a few words about myself. My name is Jaro and I live in Finland – home of the Nokia phones. I’m a proud owner of the E50 and that’s one of the reasons I started this blog. My aim is to help other users, exchange tips for useful applications and learn more about this great phone. Remember, the wisdom is in crowd, so let’s keep in touch, we all can benefit from it. After all, Nokia’s slogan is Connecting People and I think they are doing their job just great ;)

    I think you have done pretty good work so far, keep it up! The whole Nokia/S60/Eseries blog ecosystem has now really grown to the point that I think we are really starting to see the benefits of wisdom-of-crowds effect. Thanks for being one of the key bloggers here :)

    Actually this is one of the only site dedicated to E50. I love the E50 as well as E61, both are wonderful product. I cannot live without them. E50 have a very nice form factor & low in price.

    [1] Tommi, thanks for your kind words. Things are much easier when you feel support from your readers and you were one of the first who commented on my blog.

    [2] Yes, I believe there are many big fans of E50, myself included. I fell in love with this phone first time I saw it and I knew I must have it ;)

    I am contemplating buying the Nokia E50 in India. Retailing for US $ 250. I want a phone which supports business applications. Heard that the font on E50 is very small. can anybody help

  5. Jaro :: 29. November 2006

    [4] That’s true, the font on E50 is quite small but on the other more stuff fits on the screen.

    Check out these screenshots, they might give you at least some image how small the font is.

    I don’t have problems with it but I can imagine that people with worse vision do.

    [6] I’m glad you like the site :)

    Thanks for the tips, I’m planning to publish an article about Gmail on E50 soon. I’ll look into goosync.com, haven’t tried it myself yet as I don’t use Google Calendar.

    hello, im in need of some help, if someone could plz help me out.
    My problem is as follows:

    I’ve just got a new nokia e50 and i went to call Divert>if not answered and diverted my calls to my house phone after i do not answer for 30 seconds.

    i was just playing around, and now i do not know how to de-activate it from always being forwarded to my house phone

    Could anyone plz let me know how u change the settings back to normal.

  9. Jaro :: 20. December 2006

    [8] Hi and welcome to the Nokia E50 Blog.

    You should be able to deactivate call diverting the same way you activated it. Go to Settings – Call divert – select Options and Cancel all diverts.

    Hope it helps.

  10. BundyNation :: 22. December 2006

    wow, that was easy. its just i kept opening up voice calls THEN pressing options.

    u have to click on options before u open up the voice calls tab.

    ended up being a simple thing,
    thanks for the help.

    Hi, want to know something about the E50. The E61, I am told, has a fantastic RF strength. It holds signal even in dead areas like the N73. My questions are: 1. How is the signal strength factor in the E50, is seamless talking possible even in the most dead signal zones? 2. Is the user interface fast enough, or does the phone hang often?

  12. BundyNation :: 3. January 2007

    I’m back again for somemore questions.

    i’ve had my nokia now..for around 2 weeks
    and the border around the screen of my phone is starting to almost come off…? u can push on it and it slightly moves inwards and outwards, same with the side of the phone. its almost as if its all starting to get really loose and come apart?
    does anyone else have this problem?
    thanks in advance,
    -BundyNation

    Hi I bought the phone in India two days back and i love it!

    Is it true that we cannot use headset with dual ear piece on the E50?The packing came with headset with a single earpiece!I tried other stereo headsets and it still plays on only one earpiece.
