8 Random Things About Me

I got tagged by Zach from Symbian in Motion with a new meme that is going around the blogsphere. It’s called 8 Random Things About Me and yes, you guessed it, I’m supposed to reveal 8 random things about me. I haven’t talked much personal stuff on this blog so this might be the right time. So if you want to get to know the author behind this blog a bit better read on.
First I’ll have to present the rules:
- We have to post these rules before we give you the facts.
- Players start with eight random facts/habits about themselves.
- People who are tagged need to write their own blog about their eight things and post these rules.
- At the end of your blog post, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names.

8 Random Things About Me
1.) I have a big respect for lakes or any large water areas. When I was about 8 years old, me and my friend went on the lake in a small boat. My friend went crazy and flipped the boat upside down. I was a very bad swimmer back then. I panicked and went straight to the bottom of the lake. I thought that was it but in the last moment my friend grabbed me around the neck and pulled me back up. Since then I prefer to stand safely on the ground with my both legs.
2.) I think you noticed that I’m not a native English speaker. I come from Slovakia and live in Finland. I moved here about 3 years ago with my girlfriend who is Finnish. We live in Tampere – home of Nokia. In fact, the Nokia town (a place where first Nokia factory was founded) is located a few minutes ride from Tampere.
3.) I work in a mobile industry with the latest mobile phones prototypes. If you are a Nokia fan I can tell you that lots of cool stuff is coming up soon! Can’t say more :)
4.) I used to be an obsessed Radiohead fan. I would listen to them whole days and refused any other music. Nowadays I’m open to much more variety of artists. I’m in love with Icelandic music (Björk, Múm, Sigur Rós and others) and I recommend anyone with similar music taste to check out the Screaming Masterpiece DVD.
5.) I got to know my girlfriend and fell in love with her via the internet (yes, it’s possible!). We were members of the same message board and after a few months we agreed to go together to the summer music festival in France. From then on things started to move really quickly and in less than a month we lived together. This festival has changed my life.
6.) Nokia E50 is my first Nokia phone and only second phone ever. For many years I’ve been using Siemens C35. I wasn’t so interested in mobile technology back then and as a student I didn’t have money to buy a new phone.
7.) I love white bread. I made several attempts to bake it myself but never got it right. I even bought a home bread maker but the bread is still far from perfect.
8.) I used to play guitar. I even had my own band and did 3 gigs. 2 of them sucked. I’d like to learn how to play piano. It’s my lifetime project.
I could go on and on but I think 8 facts about me is just enough, otherwise I could bore you too much and that’s the last thing I’d like to do. I’ll now pass the meme to some other folks:
