Nokia E50

Video Of Nokia E51

Jaro 24. September 2007 :: ,

Phonescoop have made a short video of the Nokia E51. It’s even thinner than E50 and it’s made of glossy materials. It looks like the interface is much faster. Phonescoop say that the E51 has a devoted camera button which seems a bit strange to me since this is not a multimedia oriented phone.

I’d also like to ask you to take a second of your time and take part in the poll in the middle sidebar. Thank you!

Live Photos Of Nokia E51

Jaro 20. September 2007 :: ,

Guys over at MobileBurn have posted first live photos of Nokia E51. Check out their site for more. The idle screen can display more information than Nokia E50, however there is still only one row of shortcuts. I wonder if it’s possible to switch to two rows. More live photos!

Nokia E51 Officially Announced

Jaro 18. September 2007 ::

It didn’t take long since the first and only picture of the Nokia E51 appeared on the internet. Today Nokia officially announced a new device from the Eseries – Nokia E51. It will come in 3 different colour variations – steel/black, pink/black and all black. As I previously mentioned, Nokia E51 comes with a bunch of new features.

Nokia E51

Check out the E51 dedicated page for technical specifications. Besides the already mentioned Wi-Fi, HSDPA and stereo Bluetooth and miniUSB, the new Nokia E51 is equipped with 2 mexapixel camera, FM Radio and much more. Nokia E51 will be globally available during the fourth quarter of 2007 for an unsubsidised retail price of approximately 350 EUR.

Check out this Nokia E51 website.

Nokia E51 coming soon - are you ready for upgrade?

Jaro 16. September 2007 ::

This is a big news for all Nokia E50 users. It looks like Nokia is ready to launch a new member of the Eseries family and it’s probably going to be a successor of the Nokia E50. At the moment it’s labelled as Nokia Exx but this xml document indicates that the photo we’ve seen all around the internet could be that of Nokia E51.

Wifi, HSDPA and stereo Bluetooth

Nokia E51 will run on Symbian 3.1 (Feature pack 1) which means that there is a whole bunch of new features compared to the Nokia E50. Probably the most popular improvement among users will be implementation of Wifi and HSDPA. I know some folks will be very happy for the stereo Bluetooth support as well.

New key mapping

From the photo above it’s clear that there are a few new keys available for quick actions. Delete key (replacement of the C key), Home key (replacement of the application key ) and the keys for quick access to Calendar, Phonebook and Messaging Centre. A little Bluetooth icon on the * key suggests that it will be a matter of one or two key-presses to turn on/off Bluetooth.

Hardware

It’s not clear whether Edit button on the right side will stay or not. Centred charging plug and a little shiny metal spot on the left could mean that the new Nokia E51 will have mini USB support.

It will be interesting to see at what price will the Nokia E51 enter the market. I guess we could see the device launched this year. Are you going to upgrade your Nokia E50?
