Screen protector for Nokia E50
Jaro 4. November 2006 :: display, martin fields, protector, screen
If you are looking for a good quality screen protector for your Nokia E50 I have a short review of the Martin Fields screen protector for you. It was written by Elisha and he was kind enough to let me publish it here. The photos are below this article.
Elisha: So I received my Martin Fields screen protector for my E50 today. I was surprised at how soon it arrived since it was only regular mail. They shipped it out on the 13th and I received it on the 18th. Pretty much 3 days if you minus the weekend plus it came from Hong Kong.
Anyway it comes with 2 pieces. One for the main screen and a smaller piece for the camera lens. Coverage of the main screen is not 100%. If I would say more like 99% but definitely better than the factory screen protector.
Clarity is brilliant unlike other screen protectors. Feels like there is nothing on it cause it even leaves your fingerprints on it as if you were touching the screen without the screen protector on.
I wish the instructions to put it on were a little better though because I spent more than one hour to get it on. First off I thought the side with the sticker was the one that goes on the screen so I peel it off, which is quite tough and throw the other piece aside. Then I laid it on the screen but it did not stick.
Duh! The side I threw aside was the correct on but you could not tell because the adhesive is pretty weak and they all feel the same. Anyway by now it’s on the floor and has dirt on it. So I had to wash it under hot water, dry it with a hair dryer and use scotch tape to clean the crap off it. Laid it on the screen and it sat perfectly with no air bubbles. But there was still crap on the adhesive side so I peeled it off again, washed it and scotch taped it once more. Took me a few peels and cleaning to get it almost perfect without dirt on it.
One corners does not stick properly to the screen as much since that was the corner I used to peel it off the screen the first time it went on perfect. It wasn’t an easy job peeling it off once it was already on so I think my fingernails kinda nicked it a bit. It just looks like there is an air bubble under it about 3/4 the size of the silver tab on the stock screen protector. The three other times I peeled it off, I used 2 pieces of scotch tape on both sides to pull it up.
But what’s done is done and it looks really good. I may need to order another piece because I like perfection.

Display protector for a mobile phone
Jaro 10. October 2006 :: display, durasec, protector, screen
Until recently I didn’t pay much attention to the display protection. I was aware of possible scratches but my previous phone wasn’t much of a value so it didn’t bother me that much. Now I’m a little bit concerned about my new shiny E50.
I learned that there is a thing called display or screen protector. It’s a kind of a sticker and it’s customized for every phone model. It can be ordered through the internet. You can see an axample of such a protector over at the DuraSec website. They make two kinds of protectors – higher and lower quality and they go for $7.98 and $15.92.
Do you have any experience with this? Do you use a protector for your display? Is it any good? I want to order one but first I’d like to hear from someone who is using it.
